Randy Green, President of RHG Phoenix Petroleum, has a diverse background that shaped his career in the oil and gas industry. Born in San Francisco, Randy's family later moved to Dallas when his father, Cornell Green, joined the Dallas Cowboys. Despite splitting time between San Francisco and Dallas during his father's 14-year football career, Randy's personal journey led him back to California for education.

After graduating from high school, Randy attended De Anza Junior College and San Jose State, majoring in Communications. His exposure to the football world continued when he attended the Denver Broncos' training camp during Dan Reeves' coaching tenure, providing him with valuable insights into hard work, dedication, teamwork, and resilience.

In 1988, Randy returned to the Dallas area and entered the oil and gas business, marking the beginning of his enduring career in the industry. Married to Kelly Green, a college professor, Randy is a father to two daughters—Tori, a nurse, and Tabitha, who has special needs.

 

Randy's core values center around integrity, communication, and relationship-building in client interactions. His client-centered approach prioritizes meeting needs and expectations, fostering success-oriented relationships that ensure client satisfaction.

  1. Career Beginnings (1988-1994): Randy initiated his oil and gas career, dedicating the first six years to learning the industry.

  2. Operational Role (1994-1996): For the subsequent two years, he worked as an operator, gaining hands-on experience in the field.

  3. RHG Phoenix Petroleum Ownership (1997-2015): Randy became the owner of RHG Phoenix Petroleum for eighteen years, drilling mini wells and acquiring knowledge from geologists, engineers, and landmen. He also delved into revenue distribution and oil and gas accounting.

  4. Transition to Independent Firm (2015): In response to the gas industry downturn in 2015, Randy transitioned to a large independent firm specializing in Brakken wells.

  5. Six Years with Independent Firm (2015-2021): During his six years with the independent firm, Randy contributed to over 350 wells, collaborating with notable partners such as XTO, Continental, Whiting, Hess, and Kraken.
